Fishtek is able to offer a full project management service for all manner of fish pass and other projects, no matter the size. In addition to conducting the initial feasibility study and producing both outline and detailed designs, we are able to consult the relevant statutory consultees and stakeholders in order to obtain all necessary consents and permissions. This includes liaising with environmental organisations such as the Environment Agency, Natural England and SEPA, planning departments and councils, English Heritage, local interest groups, utility companies and landowners.
Our highly skilled team of biologists and engineers are able to manage any project, from a small eel pass installation or fish easement build, right up to a large R&D project or complete fish pass installation.
We have managed numerous small fish pass projects around the country, including officially project managing and supervising the installation of two large fish passes for the Trent Rivers Trust. One of these, at Darley Abbey on the River Derwent is to our knowledge the largest fish pass built by a rivers trust in the UK. At 3 m wide and over 25 m long, the pass was a substantial construction and design project that took skilled and consistent project management from the Fishtek team.
